→ Kate Winslet and Judy Davis had a hard time keeping a straight face while filming the scene where Liam Hemsworth strips off to get a measurement.
→ This film marked the first time Liam Hemsworth used his native Australian accent in a film.
→ Liam Hemsworth came into shooting later, as he was doing promo for The Hunger Games films. He was quite nervous and intimidated acting alongside Oscar-winner Kate Winslet, but she put him at ease quickly. Hemsworth appreciated working with a lot of seasoned actors and said that he learnt a lot from them all.
→ Liam Hemsworth says he connected to the character of Teddy because “he reminded me of a lot of people I grew up with- my grandpa in particular.”
→ Liam Hemsworth went on a very restricted diet for the shirtless scene, and did pushups in his trailer just prior to shooting that specific scene. Kate Winslet noted: “When I would get to the point where I had to measure his waist, I would actually hear his stomach growling. I would think ‘Poor darling. Let’s get the scene done.'”
